Blessed Solstice to One and All

The Winter Solstice, the longest of nights, is an event celebrated by numerous covens, solitaries and other earth-based spirituality followers across the Sunshine State. From all the writers, photographers and volunteers with Florida PNC, we wish you merry yuletide blessings as the wheel turns toward another year.

Pictured above are Solstice revelers from last nights Tequesta Fire Drum Circle held at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. (Stay tuned to Florida PNC for a feature story on Tequesta drum circle.)

In November, the Los Angeles Times reported on the $80,000 installation of the Cadet Chapel Falcon Circle at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. The circle was established as an effort to accommodate pagan and earth-based spiritual practices of cadets attending the Academy. Quoted in the story was one of our armed service members from Florida:

It is very nice to have our own space,” says Cadet 1st Class Nicole Johnson, a 21-year-old senior from Florida who became a pagan after entering the academy.

As the new turn approaches, we invite you to keep the fires of religious awareness and understanding burning strong this coming year. If you have any newsworthy events or stories happening in the wider Florida Neo-Pagan community, please send your submissions early and often through the Contact link at the top menu.
